New technology and education hub for east frame ex-Inland Revenue building (The Press)

October 23, 2017

News that the ex IRD building is to be repurposed is very positive for the Christchurch Innovation Precinct.

MHP manages two other large buildings in the Innovation Precinct (the Kathmandu and Vodafone buildings) on behalf of investors represented by Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers.

The Press reports:

An education, research and technology transfer hub is to be established in an old office building in Christchurch’s east frame.

The Crown owns the eight-storey building, the former Inland Revenue headquarters, and will sell it to developer Studio D4.

Studio D4, headed by developer Patrick Fontein, was behind the Vodafone, Kathmandu, Dux Central, Lichfield Lanes and car park building in the city’s innovation precinct. Studio D4 is now selling the Dux Central building in a move understood to be helping fund the new purchase.
