The MHP team headed offsite for a training and planning meeting in Christchurch this month, which was a rare occasion to bring the whole team together in one location. The team was briefed on MHP’s business strategy for the coming year, as well as hearing industry experts speak on key issues relevant to the property sector. Speakers included John McDonagh, Associate Professor in Property Studies at Lincoln University; as well as senior represenatives from ANZ and Crombie Lockwood. The team took away some valuable key learning points on a variety of topics including current bank lending trends and strategic property management plans.

Our updated annual accounts process is now bedded in and the majority of accounts have now been finalised and distributed to shareholders.

Moving to property management, as part of the purchase of 7 Show Place, Christchurch last year (an office building occupied by Westpac and Revera) by a Mitchell Mackersy syndicate, Goodman agreed to a major $1m upgrade of the building’s HVAC system. This work is due to start soon. At the same time, Westpac is replacing the ceilings, lighting and furnishings in their office space at their own cost. This project, which will modernise the interior significantly, demonstrates Westpac’s commitment to the building. During the works, Westpac staff will be based across the road at the Goodman-owned building at 2 Show Place.
