Two key appointments at MHP reflect portfolio evolution and growthMay 1, 2018
MHP has made two key appointments to newly-created senior roles, reflecting the ongoing evolution and growth of its nationwide commercial property management portfolio.
Gwynn Gilmour has been appointed as Senior Facilities Manager. Gwynn is a building and quantity surveyor who has previously worked with MHP for over three years as an independent contractor.
He brings a highly technical background in facilities management to the role.
Gwynn’s appointment is in line with MHP’s plans for strategic growth, which includes an enhanced focus on facilities management. Bringing Gwynn on board also allows key maintenance and facilities management functions to be brought in-house.
Gwynn is responsible for maintenance on the buildings in MHP’s management portfolio, which are generally modern with an average age of 10 years, with the goal of ensuring each asset keeps performing at its peak for the long term.
MHP’s other key appointment is an internal promotion of Kirita Sio to Property Management Team Leader. Her new role, which reflects the ongoing growth of the MHP team, includes providing mentorship and guidance to MHP’s team of seven property managers, development of the property management team and assistance in learning & development programmes for property managers, especially for newer members of the team. She will also continue her existing property management duties.
Appointing Kirita as Property Management Team Leader is in response to the increasing size of the MHP team and the need to ensure a consistently high level of service is provided to clients and tenants.
Kirita has nearly 20 years’ experience in the property industry, encompassing property management and other roles in the commercial, residential and government sectors.
Over the past year, MHP has appointed five new people to various positions and now has a team of 13 people based in Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin.
MHP manages one of the largest commercial property portfolios in New Zealand. Key portfolio statistics as at March 30 2018 are:
- Properties under management: 100+ (80+ syndicate-owned, 20+ privately-owned)
